How to Update LG LG Quantum Windows Phone 7

How to update LG Quantum Windows Phone 7 Steps:

1. Download LGDP2 V36 UMTS Setup and extract, go to LGDP2_31_INCLUDE_LGDP1_Setup folder and install the exe (use serial number). Now copy all the files from DOWNLOAD folder and paste on C:\DOWNLOAD (overwrite if needed).
2. Install LG United Modem Driver, connect the phone to PC through USB cable and let the drivers to be installed. USB 1.1 is recommended.
3. You’ll need firmware in DZ format and the correct DLL for your model.
4. Open LGDP2_V36_UMTS from C:\DOWNLOAD, select UMTS in Division and click OK.
5. Select port (check Device Manager for LG USBModem Port number), you can set a range from easy select or select manually. Select DLL and select firmware in Download Configuration. Click OK.
6. Click START in main window and connect the phone to USB cable in Emergency download mode(VOL+CAM+PWR). LG Phone Problem and Solution

      I am very positive purpose of writing this article is to let everyone know how to root their LG Optimus V. I’m not the original author, here I have the highest respect to RevolutionRed who is really a genius. Thank you very much.  LG Phone Problem and Solution

      How to root LG Optimus V Step: LG-Optimus info

      Download:
      http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta…4&d=1296061635 unzip this file to your C drive, something like C:\ADB
      And
      download: http://forum.androidcentral.com/atta…ptimusroot.zip unzip this one to the C:\ADB
      First, use the superoneclick rootshell to get a temp adb root.
      Then, do this at the command prompt (you should have a # prompt)
      adb shell
      mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /system /system
      exit
      After that:
      adb push su /system/bin
      adb push busybox /system/bin
      And then:
      adb shell
      cd /system/bin
      chmod 4755 su
      chmod 4755 busybox
      exit
      and reboot the phone. Install superuser.apk that is in the ADB folder. You should now have root access.  LG Android Phones

      I didn’t type the exact commands because they are basically the same as the LG Optimus S. Step by step for anyone else that wants them as well. Here is a link to the original instructions as a reference:

        Of course, it does work just fine on the LG Optimus S

        On the contact view, follow the steps to join with facebook profile

        1. Open your LG Optimus S
        2. Go to contact
        3. Hit the options button (Second button) and select Edit contact
        4. On the edit contact screen hit the options button again and select Join

          Ok, to start, you need to set up your LG Optimus V: LG Android Phones

          1. Download and install the "quick settings" app from the market
          2. Open it and press menu>customize
          3. Move the wifi hotspot up to be in the visible settings
          4. Turn it on.

          Note: you cannot turn it on in settings in the phone but once its on using quick settings, you can go into settings and set up a password for your network.  LG-Optimus info

              LG Optimus V Driver Download

              When I plug in my LG Optimus V to my computer via USB cable, the USB notification does not come up (it used to, though), and my computer shows me a notification/box/list of USB ports with a statement that says "USB device not recognized.  One of the USB device attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.

              I searched quite a while to and finally find the LG Optimus V drivers on the LG official site. This is a larger file but will have all of the drivers you need. Install the Drivers WITHOUT the LG Optimus V hooked to the USB Port. Once the installation is done, NEXT plug the LG Optimus V in to the USB port and wait a couple of seconds.  You should see a little USB symbol appear in the upper Left of the Notification Bar. Open the Notification window and Press on the USB notification and choose Mass Storage Mode. LG-Optimus info

                Tips & Tutorials – How to Downgrade LG Optimus V

                For the masses, if and when the phone gets rooted or if there’s any mistakes made while this phone is being tinkered with this should set you back straight. LG Android Phones

                I present the LG Optimus V Downgrader. Why call it a downgrader when there’s nothing to downgrade from yet? I dunno but I do know this should take your phones back to an "out of the box" state if any type of modifications render your phone inoperable. LG Phone Problem and Solution

                To use this, follow these directions: LG-Optimus info

                1. Unpack it to the root of your C: drive
                2. Remove any instance of any previous LG Updater from your PC. Do this by going to C:\Program Data\LGcellularAX\B2C_Client and then clicking on the file B2CAppUninstall.exe
                3. Then delete the folder LGcellularAX
                4. Install the USB drivers if you don’t have them already
                5. Plug the LG Optimus V into any USB port on the back of your PC. Not the front ones
                6. Turn off your LG Optimus V and take out the microsd card
                7. Turn phone back on
                8. Connect your phone with the USB
                9. Make sure you have your phone in USB debugging mode by going to Settings/Applications/Development and tapping on USB debugging
                10. From the root of C: Run KP500-Utils-EN.exe
                11. Press the letter J on your keyboard and press enter
                12. Type "LGVM670" without the quotes for Phone Model and press enter
                13. Type VM670ZV4_13.S4_13.P61007.cab and press enter
                14. Type VM670ZV4_13 for the Version and press enter
                15. The updater in my package will open up and probably complain that the phone is not connected. Just click restart and the program will continue.
                16. Allow the program to do it’s thing. Your phone eventually should reboot with a screen that says it’s upgrading.
                17. Wait until the downgrade is complete and the phone reboots. Do not unplug your phone until the program asks you to exit.
                18. Your LG Optimus V will stay on the android animation for a while and then it will start looping the animation. This happened to me, but don’t panic. Wait about 4 or 5 minutes while it’s looping.
                19. After that take the battery out. It’s the only way to turn the phone off.
                20. Press and hold the "Power/Lock", "Home" and "Volume down" buttons down and wait until the little droid dude and progress bar appears. Then release the buttons. This is a factory reset.
                21. Then wait. The LG Optimus V will start up and animation will take a while till it gets to the Welcome screen.
