LG Esteem Tips – Root Guide

So you have made the decision to root your LG Esteem? Well we’ve found the complete tutorial for you. This guide not complicated, but there is still a possibility of bricking your LG Esteem, so be sure you have backup your phone and be comfortable with what you are doing and follow instructions carefully. First you will need the LG Esteem USB modem driver to connect to your phone.

Then, enable USB Debugging on your LG Esteem: Go to Settings > Applications > Developement > Enable Debugging

After that, download the one-click root files:

Extract all the files, make sure your phone is plugged in with USB Debugging enabled, then run the run.bat. Don’t touch your phone or do anything till it’s finished!

Once you flash the Recovery image, I recommend using ROM Manager to backup your current ROM first. Then you can go find a custom one. LG Cell Phone Software

If you want to unroot your LG Esteem because you want to take into a MetroStore for repair or for whatever reason. On your phone settings go to Privacy and select Factory Data Reset. After doing this your phone will reset to factory state and will no longer be rooted. LG Phone Problem and Solution

      Verizon LG Revolution gets updated to Android Gingerbread

      The wait is finally over for LG Revolution owners who have been waiting for a little Gingerbread love. Verizon Wireless is now pushing out the Android 2.3 update for the LG Revolution via OTA, so if you want to throw your USB cord back in your dresser drawl, feel free. To manually check if the update is available for your handset, go to Settings > About phone > System updates. All Verizon LG Revolution should get the 87.8MB update by the middle of next week.  LG Android Phones

      The update to Gingerbread has the version number VS910ZV7 and brings with it everything you’d expect from Google’s latest cellular operating system designed for phones. Details for the update include: LG Cell Phone News

      • Email folders will now display in the correct order. The maximum attachment size is now set correctly, even when the exchange service is configured with unlimited size attachments.
      • Messages can now be stored on the SIM card. View these messages through the Settings menu, “Manage SIM card messages.”
      • Correctly set Out of Office without having to set a start or end time
      • The popup message asking to delete accounts when changing the SIM card now displays correctly
      • The cursor has been reshaped for easier text editing
      • List menu force close issue has been resolved. Issues have been fixed involving proper connectivity through the HDMI cable
      • Data now works correctly when toggling in Airplane mode

        How to Flash LG Optimus Pro C660

        Hey guys, in this guide I will show you how to flash your LG Optimus Pro C660. This method is the simplest way to do it. LG Phone Problem and Solution

        LG Optimus Pro C660 Firmware Download:

        Steps to Flash LG Optimus Pro C660 with LGDP2: LG Cell Phone Software

        1. Download LGDP2 V36 UMTS Setup and extract, go to LGDP2_31_INCLUDE_LGDP1_Setup folder and install the exe (use serial number). Now copy all the files from DOWNLOAD folder and paste on C:\DOWNLOAD (overwrite if needed).
        2. Install LG USB Modem Driver, connect the phone to PC through USB cable and let the drivers to be installed.
        3. You’ll need firmware in DZ format and the correct DLL for your model.
        4. Open LGDP2_V36_UMTS (for example) from C:\DOWNLOAD, select UMTS in Division and click OK.
        5. Select port (check Device Manager for LG USBModem Port number), you can set a range from easy select or select manually. Select DLL and select firmware in Download Configuration. Click OK.
        6. Click START in main window and connect the phone in Emergency download mode.

        Steps to Flash LG Optimus Pro C660 with LGMDP:

        1. Install LG United Modem Driver, connect the phone to PC through USB cable and let the drivers to be installed.
        2. Opne LGMDP soft, click on the Select Port, new window will pop up.Your phone model and firmware version will be showed up there, if the phone is supported with that LGMDP version it will be automatically ticked on the checkbox. Now click Connect.
        3. A new window will pop up for firmware selection. Browse and select your firmware folder in the Select Image box, all files will be automatically selected. You can change any certain file from the browse button. If you are using a DZ firmware click DZ button on the right lower corner of the window and and select that.
        4. Select data handling option:
          • NV Backup/Restore: NV Backup/Restore always have to be done, and it is default selected option. Backup the NV data and restore the backed up NV data automatically.
          • Reset database & Contents: User related data including the setting data on the EFS is reset in the handset. The contents in the handset will be erased.
          • Erase_EFS: The calibration data, user contents, media, and module will be erased. Only calibration data is kept when NV backup/restore is checked.
          • Keep All Contents: No user data will be erased.

                    Late last month, T-cellular announced that it would be adding a new Android Phone to its portfolio, namely the LG DoublePlay. This is a unique handset that take on the traditional QWERTY slider design achieved by adding a secondary display right in the middle of its keyboard. LG Android Phones

                    If you live in the US and like your full QWERTY keyboard to also have touchscreens, here’s some good news. Bell will start selling the LG DoublePlay on November 2. Unfortunately no pricing information has been made public, but according to TmoNews, you should be able to get a LG DoublePlay for $150 with a two-year service agreement.
