So what you need there is : The aospGBMod / CM7 (Gingerbread) ROM , the flashable google apps and ClockworkMod Recovery.
In order to flash aospGBMod / CM7 (Gingerbread) ROM you need the ClockworkMod Recovery installed. This is due to the need to be able to wipe the boot, system, data, and cache partitions. Most bootloops are caused by the recovery not fully wiping/formatting these partitions. Wiping factory is also recommended. LG-Optimus info
How to Flash the ClockworkMod Recovery on LG Optimus V:
After running the aospGBMod / CM7 (Gingerbread) ROM, my LG Optimus V over clocked at 806Mhz, and feel more fast, smooth and stable for me. Though it still has a lots bugs, but does not affect phone’s use.
